Microsoft has been anxious to move the world to its new operating system, Vista. Unfortunately for Microsoft, the world has been less than keen to do its bidding. Many machines with Vista pre-installed can be downgraded back to Windows XP. And customers are taking advantage of this. Also, retail sales of Vista have proved disappointing. [...]

It’s been nearly six months since I attended the launch of Windows Vista. Back then, I came to the conclusion that for most small businesses the new Microsoft operating system would be useful, but not essential. It’s still my view that unless you have reasonably new computers, it’s not worth your business upgrading. [...]
