Company Pension Scheme E-Filing Goes Live

From today all registered pension schemes must submit certain information electronically to HMRC.  This hasn’t stopped the Federation of Small Business, however, from suggesting e-filing should be optional as it adds to the administrative burden, rather than diminished it.  A strange argument.

Full details of the elements that company pension scheme administrators will need to file electronically can be found at HMRC and include:

  • Applications to register a pension scheme;
  • Registered Pension Scheme Returns;
  • Accounting for Tax Returns;
  • Scheme Administrator’s Declarations;
  • Event Reports;
  • Notifications of the winding-up of a registered pension scheme;
  • Notifications of a scheme administrator terminating their appointment.
