Thirty Brightest Business Young Guns Named
By SmallBizPod, 9th October 2007 at 12:49
Thirty of 2007’s best and brightest young entrepreneurial stars have been named this week by Growing Business magazine. Previous nominees since the list was launched some five years ago include Richard Reed of Innocent Drinks and Thea Green of Nails Inc.
This year the list claims to include young business people whose ”fresh way of thinking challenges and changes UK entrepreneurship as we know it”.
A bold claim indeed! The focus being that social enterprises and environmentally friendly businesses are increasingly being recognised. Examples of entrepreneurs on the list include:
- Rob Small, founder of Miniclip, the second largest privately-held website in the world, after Facebook, with a turnover of £24million.
- Ben Way, the 27 year old serial entrepreneur who made the Sunday Times Rich List while he was a teenager and is now the technical guru behind Horsemouth - an e-mentoring site for adults.
- Raj Rana, the founder of award-winning fine dining Indian restaurant, Itihaas, which donates curries to a local Salvation Army hostel one a week.
