Always on SMEs win new business

Nearly half of the UK’s small business owners (48%) say they’ve won a piece of new business thanks to being connected while on the move, according to research released today by Research In Motion.
Just over 70% of small business owners are out of the office twice a week or more, so it’s hardly surprising that in this day and age the ability to stay in touch is a vital part of business.
Roughly the same proportion believes that reacting quickly to customer queries and communicating with them regularly is also vital in retaining business.
Topping the list of preferred mobile communication methods are email (79%), followed by voice calls (58%) and text and instant messaging (21%).
Perhaps surprisingly, however, the research reveals traditional forms of communication including the letter are favoured by a third.
Here at SmallBizPod, for stand out value alone, we reckon a well crafted handwritten letter could be one of the marketing trends of the early 21st century.
