Small business mentor award launched

Online mentoring site horsesmouth.co.uk and Yell.com have today announced the launch of a nationwide search for the UK’s top small business mentors.  The Small Business Mentor of the Year Awards are designed to give small businesses the opportunity to recognise the people who’ve helped advise, coach and mentor them to success.

The winner of the Award will receive £1,000 and a breakfast business mentoring session with an entrepreneur of their choice including Dame Mary Perkins of Specsavers and Sahar Hashemi of Coffee Republic.

Judges will be taking into account the following criteria in coming to a decision on finalists:

• friendliness - being approachable, non patronising, non judgmental and empathetic;
• helpfulness - providing useful, valuable advice and support;
• timeliness - being flexible and respectful of the “mentees” time and commitments.
