More than ever small businesses and startups need to support each other. That's why we've made it easy for you to share seven business tips on any topic you know well. It's good karma. It's good for your profile. It's good business.

Getting started
Getting started is very simple. Follow these steps and/or check out the 'how to' video below.
- Click on the Register/Login square in the sidebar.
- Fill in your name and email address.
- Wait for a password in your inbox [check your spam folder too, just in case it ends up there].
- Login with your password and name by clicking the 'Login' text in the top right corner of this page.
- Click on the 'Users' tab and fill in your profile details i.e. short biog and web address and change your password, if you want to.
- Click on the 'Posts' tab, then 'add new'. Type or paste in your seven tips. Press 'Submit'
- Go and have a cup of tea. If our editorial team likes your tips, they'll be published soon.
Get started video
- Do ... make sure your 7 business tips are original, informative and focused.
- Do ... submit as many contributions as you like, but keep them to categories you know something about!
- Do ... add tags (like 'direct mail' or 'PR') in the post screen to bring them focus within a broader category.
- Do ... add a photo to your profile by uploading one at Gravatar or at your profile page on the site [make sure it's of you, rather than a logo].
- Do ... encourage people to rate your own and other people's tips by clicking on the yellow stars at the bottom of each post.
- Do ... check out our terms of use, acceptable use and privacy policies.
- Don't ... plagiarise or submit a contribution that's been published somewhere else.
- Don't ... fill your tips with link spam or plugs.
- Don't ... submit anything abusive or offensive.
- Don't ... forget that publication is at the editor's discretion.
- Don't ... feel shy ... do spread the word about SmallBizPod, if you enjoy it.
- Don't ... err ... that's probably it for now ... use your common sense.
