Just a quickie this week. I have a colleague who had a mail. “Lucky winner”, it told him, “You’ve won a prize draw”, it said. So, what sort of spam was this, you’ll be wondering – who was trying to harvest his details no doubt with a view to rifling his bank account later on?
Actually you’d be wrong in this instance. It was from the National Lottery and he had indeed won a tenner. Note to Lottery organisers: if you ever want your e-mails to be taken seriously, try to make them look less like a scam from someone doing a bit of phishing…
