Startup Challenge For Londoners

Londoners challenged to create a new business in just three days.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you’ve got what it takes to create a new business, why not take part in an unusual challenge to reach London from 30th November to 2 December – the Startup Weekend.

The aim of the weekend is for a group of people to get together to create, in just three days, a new, dynamic startup business in which they all share equity.  It is very much about creating web-based businesses, so if you have skills in developing, usability or an online business idea you want to share, it may well be worth getting yourself a ticket.

American Andrew Hyde came up with the idea and previous Startup Weekend events around the world have lead to businesses such as online social voting service Vosnap.  The following video clip has details.

If you’re in London at the end of the month and would like to take part, it’s free.  Just add your name to the list.

Hi Ian, I think it’s a great idea and I’m sure a very valuable experience for those taking part. Sadly I can’t make it myself, but I’d be keen to on another occasion, if the chance arises.

    Cheers

    Alex

  3. Ian says:

    Hi Alex,
Don’t worry, we hope to keep the blog updated throughout and obviously we will be publicising the business the group creates. If you are interested in promoting or discussing the event afterwards I or one of the other organisers may be able to give you a run down on the event for inclusion in your podcast.
    Regards, Ian.
