‘Good Directors’ honoured for doing their bit for the image of British business.
Nigel Kershaw, the chief executive of Big Issue Invest and recent interviewee on the podcast, has been honoured by Director Magazine as ‘Good Director for Enterprise’.
Over the course of the last 12 months Director Magazine has scoured the British business landscape for senior executives who are giving business a good name.
Nigel, is certainly one of those and social enterprise is very much the new black in fashionable enterprise circles right now. The award recognises Nigel’s and Big Issue Invest’s work in making a significant contribution to the development and support of new enterprises.
Other than loans and support for growing social enterprises Big Issue Invest has created a social enterprise investment fund – a first for the UK.
Others honoured by Director include Greta Corke, Jon Sawdon Smith and Richard Woods of DIY Kyoto, Peter Paduh of Maxitech, Graham Clempson of MidOcean Partners, Lord Bilimoria of Cobra Beer and Sir Stuart Rose of M&S, to name but a few.
