SME News£70,000 boost for young entrepreneur scheme
Shell LiveWIRE adds monthly cash boost to help young entrepreneurs launch their businesses and encourage entries to Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
One of the longest running schemes to support young entrepreneurs in the UK, Shell LiveWIRE, has announced it will be offering £1,000 to up to five young business people (aged 16-30) every month.
The money will aim to help get new business ideas off the ground.
Each of the entrepreneurs will also be invited to enter the annual Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award which recognises the best in young startup talent the UK has to offer.
Previous winners include Jamie Murray Wells of Glasses Direct. The winner of this year’s award will walk away with £10,000 to support their business.
Commenting on the awards Jamie Murray Wells said:
It’s a tough economic climate, but that shouldn’t put off entrepreneurs with sound business ideas being brave and going out on their own. But creating a successful business doesn’t happen overnight and you need all of the help you can get. So take advantage of advice and financial support from schemes like Shell LiveWIRE.
